Hi, My name is Matt. I'm the founder of Red Fox Bushcraft. I have been teaching bushcraft for around 5 years and have had an obsession with it for much longer. Growing up in a scout and guide family, near Dartmoor, I have gained a special appreciation of the outdoors. I have spent a lot of time in my youth and as an adult adventuring. Allowing me to learn and practice outdoor skills on a regular basis. My aim is to teach outdoor skills, helping people experience the outdoors and connect with our ancient roots.
I have a level 2 bushcraft instructor qualification, a Ba in anthropology, and a masters degree in Experimental Archaeology. In addition to this I have outdoor first aid and a level 3 food hygiene certificates. My journey in outdoor skills has lead me to the study of ancient skills on an academic level. During my masters degree in experimental archaeology I have learned some flint knapping, met artisan basket makers, wood workers, metal workers, and learned how to make and use various kinds of shepherds slings. I relish in teaching the skills I have learned, bushcraft and ancient skills are my passion. I love to share my knowledge and continuously learn new things and I invite you to join me on this journey.
